Cozy Cabin Shawl
By Caroline Sommerfeld
The Cozy Cabin Shawl is inspired by the weekend trips she used to take a cabin in the woods with friends. The cabin had a wonderful collection of blankets and woven rugs, many with a southwestern flair. She loved wrapping them around herself and taking a hot cup of tea out onto the porch.

Notes (retrieved by Ancient Arts Ravelry Pattern Page)
- This shawl is an asymmetric shape that begins from the narrow point and increases on one side only. The shawl increases are worked every fourth row in texture sections and every second row in mosaic sections.
- It is important to allow edge stitches to be loose, but when working texture stitch sections, tighten the increase side edge stitch on increase rows to keep the edge straight.
- Edge stitches are slipped at the start of each row knitwise; all other stitches are slipped purlwise.
- Colours are carried along the side of the shawl when there are no more than 4 rows between colour changes. Break yarn if it will not be used in more than 4 rows.
Ancient Arts Yarn Lascaux Worsted
$32.00 CAD
Unit price perLascaux Fine is a delightful blend of heritage and modern sheep fibre spun into a 2-ply fingering weight yarn which is perfect for stranded colourwork projects.
The heritage breed sheep is Manx Loaghtan, found only on the Isle of Mann, and the modern breed is the Punta Arenas from South America. The natural colour of this yarn is a light brown, so it has a heathered undertone when it is dyed, and although it looks rustic, it actually knits up exceptionally soft!
Fibre: 25% Manx Loaghtan, 75% Punta Arenas Wool
Weight: Worsted - 4
Yardage: 385 yards per 100 gram skein
Due to the nature of hand-dyed yarn, skeins can differ slightly both between and within dye lots. Alternating skeins is recommended.
While we do my best to both capture and portray accurate colourways, please note that there may be differences due to monitors.
Despite fully exhausting, washing and rinsing all skeins, to remove excess dye, some bleeding may still occur. Hand washing yarn is recommended - in cold water to limit the bleeding - and lay flat to dry.
